Police detained a teenager during an attempted arson at a roundabout in Limassol
Around 11:00 PM yesterday, police received a report that a group of young people was moving trash onto a roundabout in Limassol, Cyprus, allegedly with the intent to set it on fire.
The patrol immediately arrived at the scene and discovered two fire sources within the circle. A group of young people was also present, who scattered in different directions upon the arrival of the police.
One of the officers chased the fleeing individuals and detained one of them. The detainee was a minor and was arrested in connection with the crime observed during the detention.
The minor was taken to the police station, where he was questioned and served with written charges in the presence of his parents, a lawyer, and a juvenile affairs officer. After the procedures, he was released pending a court summons.
The investigation of the incident is being conducted by the Germasogeia Police Station.
