After a series of thefts at the cemetery in Paphos, security measures have been strengthened
The Geroskipou Municipality announced on Friday that it would enhance security measures at the municipal cemetery following a recent series of break-ins.
The municipality stated that it has reinforced the cemetery's fencing and lighting at key points, primarily at entrances, to prevent unwanted intrusions during nighttime hours.
At the same time, a request has been made for more frequent police patrols to respond promptly to any potential security breaches.
The municipality noted that it had previously submitted two applications for permission to install a surveillance camera system, which did not receive a positive response.
However, the necessary approval is expected to be obtained in the near future.
