The pre-event for the 12th Cyprus Jazz & World Music Showcase will take place on November 18 in Paphos

The Department of Contemporary Culture under the Ministry of Culture of Cyprus and the Rialto Theatre will hold a special pre-event on November 18, 2025 at Technopolis 20 in Paphos, opening the 12th Cyprus Jazz & World Music Showcase 2025 festival.
The program includes two performances reflecting the diversity and energy of the contemporary Cypriot music scene.
The first performance will feature the band Sis I cracked my head open, combining prog rock, fusion and indie with elements of post-bebop jazz and pop music. The ensemble — Michalis Neokleous (guitar), Andreas Poyadjis (bass), Ioannis Triantafyllou (drums), Marietta Ieriidi (viola) and Lara Abouzaid (vocals) — will present original compositions about growing up and self-discovery. The group has already performed at Feggaros High 2024, Cyprus Jazz & World Music Showcase 2024, the Summer Jazz Festival in Krakow and is preparing its debut album.
The second performance — Ermis Michail Trio +1, where jazz classics acquire a fresh sound thanks to the addition of saxophone. The lineup includes Ermis Michail (guitar), Omiros Miltiadous (drums), Kyriakos Kestas (double bass) and Marios Charalambous (saxophone). The musicians promise an hour of live improvisational jazz with rich rhythmic structures.
The concert will serve as a vivid introduction to the main Cyprus Jazz & World Music Showcase 2025 festival, which will take place on December 5–7 at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol.
