Greek President Begins Official Visit to Cyprus
President of the Hellenic Republic Konstantinos Tasoulas begins a three-day official visit to Cyprus on Wednesday, at the invitation of Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides. This marks his first international trip since taking office.
The visit will kick off with an official welcome and meeting at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia. The two leaders will hold talks, joined by their respective delegations, followed by statements to the press.
In the evening, an official dinner will be held in honor of the Greek president.
On Thursday, President Tasoulas will meet Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos and, together with President Christodoulides, visit the UN buffer zone. He is also scheduled to meet with Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus and House Speaker Annita Demetriou, before addressing a plenary session of the Cypriot Parliament.
Later that day, he will visit the Greek military camp in Malounta and the "Buried Graves" of EOKA fighters in Nicosia.
On Friday, the Greek President will meet with leaders of political parties and representatives of civil society, and pay a visit to the Makedonitissa military cemetery before departing the island.
Konstantinos Tasoulas, formerly Speaker of the Greek Parliament, was elected President of Greece in February 2025.
