Five “winter” herbs and foods that help support immunity during the cold season

In winter, when the season of viral infections is in full swing, the body can be supported not only by pharmacy remedies but also by familiar foods and herbs from the kitchen. The article lists five options that are credited with immune-supporting properties and are often used in the form of drinks or as additions to food: ginseng, echinacea, garlic, green tea (as well as mountain herb tea), and sage.
The authors note that such remedies are usually used as part of the daily diet—for example, as warm infusions or as additions to dishes. At the same time, it is emphasized that even “natural” remedies may have contraindications (for example, in cases of chronic illnesses, pregnancy, or medication use), so moderation is important and, if in doubt, consulting a specialist is advised.
