Quad Bike Overturns in Ayia Napa with Four Passengers: Fleeing Driver Caught
A quad bike carrying four passengers overturned in Ayia Napa. The driver fled the scene but was later apprehended.
According to the police press service, an 18-year-old man was arrested for fleeing the scene of a traffic accident that occurred early Tuesday morning in the Famagusta district.
It is alleged that the man was driving the quad bike with three passengers: two women and one man. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn. All three passengers sustained various injuries.
Immediately after the accident, the young man fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The injured passengers were taken to Famagusta General Hospital. A 20-year-old man suffered a broken arm, and a 19-year-old woman sustained a pelvic fracture. The second woman was discharged after receiving first aid.
The police identified and arrested the driver late Tuesday evening and took him into custody. He appeared before the Famagusta District Court on Wednesday morning. Ayia Napa police are investigating the driver's decision to flee the scene of the accident.
