Eight people were detained during nighttime police raids
As a result of preventive police operations, eight people were detained in various cases, including causing grievous bodily harm, illegal stay in the Republic of Cyprus, illegal possession of property, and carrying cold weapons.
During the nighttime operations, the police stopped and checked 514 drivers and passengers, as well as conducted 26 inspections of establishments to prevent offenses.
During road checks, 142 protocols were issued for traffic violations, and investigations were initiated in four cases related to serious traffic offenses.
Particular attention was drawn to 40 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol. As part of the checks, the police also seized four vehicles.
Law enforcement authorities state that coordinated operations to prevent and suppress crime continue daily. They include increased police presence, targeted inspections, and operational actions aimed at enhancing citizen safety and maintaining public order.
