Police found 26 live and seven dead wild birds during a raid in Larnaca
On October 25, during a police operation in the Agios Theodoros area of Larnaca, officers discovered wild birds caught in trapping nets. The operation was carried out with the participation of members of the special anti-terrorist unit (MMAD).
During the search, police seized seven installed nets containing 26 live birds, as well as four additional nets packed in bags.
In addition, law enforcement officers found seven dead birds, two sound devices, four loudspeakers, and other items related to poaching activity.
One person was arrested during the search, caught collecting birds from the installed nets. The investigation is being conducted by the Kofinou police station.
The police, in cooperation with relevant agencies, continue targeted inspections in various areas aimed at eradicating illegal trapping and trade of wildlife in Cyprus.
