60 firecrackers found with 64-year-old driver in Larnaca
Officers of the Larnaca Police Operational Unit (OPE) stopped a car for inspection on a road in the Larnaca district at around 11:00.
A 64-year-old resident of Nicosia was at the wheel. During a search of the vehicle, police officers found two bags containing 60 firecrackers.
The man was taken to the Oroklini police station, where he was questioned and officially charged. He was subsequently released pending a court summons.
The discovered firecrackers were seized as material evidence.
