Mother in Limassol Suspected of Infant Abuse
A criminal case is being investigated in Limassol against a 35-year-old foreign national suspected of child endangerment and assault.
According to police reports, the infant's father stated that during an argument, the woman violently shook the baby and threw him onto a sofa, causing the child significant stress and fright.
Following the report, law enforcement and social services immediately removed the child and took him to Limassol General Hospital for examination. The infant was hospitalized for preventive reasons, later discharged, and is currently with the father.
An arrest warrant has been issued for the woman. Information regarding potential past instances of child abuse is also being investigated.
