Unidentified Persons Pelt Firefighters with Stones During Firefighting in Limassol
In the Polemidia area of Limassol, unidentified individuals pelted firefighters with stones while they were tackling a blaze.
The report of a fire involving a pile of wood and debris reached the fire service around 17:55. A fire crew from the Monovoliko station arrived at the scene, and the fire was brought under control by 18:18.
According to the fire service, while extinguishing the flames, unknown persons began throwing stones at the firefighters and their vehicle. Police were called to the scene, but the attackers fled before they arrived.
The fire truck sustained damage as a result of the incident. There were no injuries among the service personnel.
