77-year-old woman robbed and beaten at her home in Limassol
Limassol police are investigating a case of robbery, burglary, illegal entry, and causing bodily harm.
At around 1:30 a.m., a report was received about an injured woman in a house in the city. Arriving at the scene, officers found the 77-year-old homeowner at the front door with a head injury.
According to the victim, the electricity in the house went out twice during the night. The woman went out to check the electrical panel.
The second time, upon returning to the house, she noticed a mess in one of the bedrooms. At that moment, an unknown man with his face covered by a black mask appeared before her.
According to her statement, the assailant:
- struck her on the head,
- tore two gold chains from her neck,
- stole a mobile phone.
The woman was taken by ambulance to a private clinic in Limassol. She was diagnosed with a laceration and abrasions on her head. She has been kept under observation for preventive purposes.
The investigation is being conducted by the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID/TAE).
