Live-Fire Military Drills Scheduled in Cyprus This March
The General Staff of the National Guard (GSNG) has announced that multiple live-fire exercises will take place throughout March 2025. Residents are advised not to be alarmed by the sound of gunfire.
According to the GSNG, National Guard units will conduct training drills at the Asgata firing range as well as in designated offshore zones.
The scheduled exercises include:
- March 5–6: Live-fire drills in a maritime area from 08:00 to 14:00, featuring controlled low-power underwater detonations.
- March 2, 13, 18, 19, and 20: Military maneuvers in the northeastern region of Cyprus from 10:00 to 14:00.
- March 5, 6, 10, 17, 18, and 19 (08:00–22:00) and March 20 (08:00–16:00): Infantry weapons training at the Asgata firing range.
Authorities have reassured the public that all exercises will be conducted in designated areas with strict safety measures in place.
