New scooter rental service launched in Nicosia
Leading European transportation platform Bolt on Monday announced the launch of electric scooter rentals in the Nicosia area.
In its statement, the company noted that by combining taxi services and scooter rentals, it aims to simplify the transport needs of residents of the Cypriot capital.
The company's regional manager for micromobility believes that with one in four trips in Cyprus shorter than 3 kilometers, Nicosia is the ideal destination for scooter trips.
For users of the Bolt app, after updating it, the scooter icon will be available. By clicking on the icon, the user will be redirected to the scooter rental interface.
Those who don't have the Bolt app can download it from Google Play or the App Store.
To unlock the scooter, you need to scan the QR code, then you will be offered instructions for safe riding and parking.
The initial unlocking of the scooter is free, with a subsequent charge of 0.2 euros per minute during the trip. For example, a 10-minute trip over several kilometers will cost only 2 euros. To mark the launch of the scooter rental service in Nicosia, unlocking remains free until the end of the year. There is no upfront payment or subscription required to use the Bolt scooter.
The scooters will be located at transportation points and popular locations. In total, the company plans to deploy 1,600 scooters in the city, with the possibility of increasing this number depending on user demand.
