The first Cyprus Studies Department in Greece has opened in Thessaloniki
The Department of Cyprus Studies at the Faculty of Law of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki was officially inaugurated on October 27, 2025. President Nikos Christodoulides called it a national achievement during the opening ceremony.
According to the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), this is the first department in Greece specifically established for the study of Cyprus-related issues.

According to the president, the creation of the department has national significance. For the residents of Cyprus, the opening marks the appearance of an academic platform in Greece focused on Cyprus studies.
