Man Arrested in Paphos with Stolen Firearm and Explosives
On Wednesday evening, police in the center of Paphos arrested a man for carrying a firearm in a public area. The suspect was also found to be in possession of explosives.
The 58-year-old man, armed with a Flobert-type firearm, was spotted by an off-duty police officer in a residential neighborhood. A subsequent search revealed four cartridges containing explosive material.
The ongoing police investigation has linked the recovered weapon to the theft of ammunition from a warehouse in Kouklia in January 2022.
The suspect faces charges of possessing a firearm and explosives, as well as theft. The investigation is still underway.
