Completion of the First Phase of the Coastal Promenade in Peyia
In Cyprus, the first phase of the construction of the coastal promenade in Peyia has been completed. Urban equipment and lighting have been installed along the entire avenue, and a pedestrian bridge will be built between the banks of the Xeros River, connecting the promenade to the future Paphos harbor.
According to the municipality, the project includes the creation of pedestrian/cycling paths, sports areas, squares, recreational areas, playgrounds, and a multifunctional park with greenery.
The goal of the project is to establish an area for walking, sports, and leisure on the already developed areas of Peyia Beach and provide organized access to the beach for residents and visitors of the village.
The coastal promenade stretches from the borders of Peyia and Kissonerga to the entrance of Akamas.
Over 2.5 million euros were spent on the implementation of the first phase. The project was realized with the co-financing of the Department of Urban Planning and Housing through the Ministry of the Interior, as well as with the funds of the Peyia Municipality.
