Mandria residents return home after evacuation
Authorities reported that the situation in the Mandria community is gradually stabilizing. According to the head of the local council, Christos Michaelides, about 2,000 residents have already returned to their homes and work.
He noted that an "uneasy calm" persists in the settlement — life is returning to its normal rhythm, but authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
Michaelides added that the local administration is in constant contact with Civil Defense and is awaiting a decision on the installation of a siren warning system. These are intended to help promptly warn residents of potential danger, especially at night.
In case of a new evacuation, a temporary accommodation site has already been designated — the community museum of Statos – Agios Fotios.
