Residents of Paphos complain about sharply increased water bills

Residents of Paphos are increasingly expressing dissatisfaction over a significant rise in water supply bills, which, according to them, in some cases have increased severalfold without clear explanations.
Citizens report that the new bills significantly exceed the usual amounts, even without an increase in water consumption. Some families claim that their bills have risen by hundreds of euros, creating a serious financial burden, especially amid the general rise in the cost of living.
The Paphos Water Board explains the situation by changes in the tariff system, as well as a review of meter readings and accumulated adjustments for previous periods. At the same time, residents insist that they were not informed in advance about such changes and demand transparent explanations.
Municipal authorities stated that citizens’ appeals are being reviewed and that each disputed bill is being checked. In some cases, consumers have been advised to submit formal complaints for a reassessment of the charges.
Meanwhile, the issue of high utility payments continues to cause public concern, increasing pressure on local water supply authorities to ensure greater transparency and clearer calculations.
