Shelter and support for women victims of domestic violence in Northern Cyprus
Kadın Sığınma Evi - shelter for women and children victims of domestic violence in Northern Cyprus. This very important place was opened in 2016 with the support of the International Organization Against Domestic Violence LTB and with the support of the Lefkosa administration.
Any injured woman from any country who doesn't have TRNC citizenship can apply to a shelter in an emergency and receive legal and psychological assistance, as well as shelter. Women in the center are provided with all conditions for living.
According to statistics, about 30 women a year seek help and live in a shelter. About 100 more women a year receive legal and psychological support. According to statistics, 80% of the victims of violence who applied for help come from third countries and the Republic of Turkey.
