"Bağımsızlık Yolu" Condemns Strikes on Iran and Warns of Risks to Cyprus
The Bağımsızlık Yolu (Independence Path) party, in a written statement, characterized the US and Israeli strikes on Iran as a "show of force and intimidation," stating that such actions could provoke a large-scale war in the region.
The statement emphasizes that Cyprus, given the presence of British NATO bases, as well as the military presence of Turkey and Greece, alongside US, Israeli, and French facilities, could be drawn into the conflict and become a potential target.
The party noted that using the island as a military platform poses a threat to the safety of the population and spoke out against turning Cyprus into a "military base," calling it a matter of vital necessity for the island's residents.
