DAU has accepted Baki Bogach’s works into the university collection.
On November 27, 2025, in Famagusta, the Eastern Mediterranean University and the heirs of the late artist Baki Bogach signed a protocol for the transfer of his works to the University Art Collection. The document was formalized at the Rectorate; it was signed by the rector, Professor Hasan Kılıç.
According to the university, the protocol is aimed at ensuring the preservation, exhibition, and transmission of Bogach’s works to future generations.
The ceremony was attended by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Sonuç Zorlu, the Vice-Rector for Promotion and Corporate Communications, Professor Ali Yöztüren, as well as the Art Coordinator of the University Art and Design Center, Zehra Şonya.
Professor Hasan Kılıç noted that the special protocol was concluded to honor the memory of Baki Bogach and to preserve his artistic legacy. He emphasized the initiative’s contribution to the educational environment and the development of the artistic life of society.
Jeren Bogach and Barçın Bogach expressed their gratitude and satisfaction that their father’s works would take a place in the university collection.
Zehra Şonya reported that two works have already been included in the University Art Collection and highlighted the artist’s significance for the art environment in Famagusta. The implementation of the protocol will ensure the preservation and exhibition of part of the legacy in Northern Cyprus.
