Pedestrian seriously injured in accident on Iskele — Ercan highway
A serious traffic accident occurred on April 11 around 19:00 on the Iskele — Ercan highway, at the Lokum Çemberi roundabout.
According to the police, a car driven by a 46-year-old woman struck an 81-year-old pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road away from a pedestrian crossing while entering the roundabout.
As a result of the collision, the man sustained serious injuries. He was taken to Famagusta State Hospital, where he was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage after receiving first aid. The victim was later transferred to Near East Hospital in Yeniboğaziçi, where he remains under medical observation.
The driver of the car has been detained, and the investigation is ongoing.
