Road to be closed all day: motorcycle races to take place in Güzelyurt–Lefke region
The Turkish Cypriot Motorcycle Association will hold high-speed motorcycle races tomorrow, due to which traffic on one of the key road sections will be temporarily restricted.
According to the organizers, about 4.5 kilometers of the bypass road between Güzelyurt and Lefke — from the Doğancı roundabout to Cengizköy — will be completely closed to traffic in both directions from 08:00 to 18:00.
Weather permitting, drivers traveling from Güzelyurt and Lefke will be allowed to use the old main road between these settlements to access the event venue.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise increased caution, especially near the competition zone. Drivers are advised to strictly observe speed limits, pay close attention to road signs and signals, and take into account temporary changes in traffic management.
The event is expected to attract both participants and spectators, so additional congestion on surrounding roads is possible throughout the day.
