“Overcome obstacles, share life”: Disability Awareness Week starts in TRNC

From May 10 to 16, Disability Awareness Week is taking place in the TRNC, with a series of events planned across the country. The Department of Social Services of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security is organizing events under the slogan “Overcome obstacles, share life,” aimed at increasing public awareness and supporting people with disabilities.

The week's program includes exhibitions, meetings, festivals, and cultural events in Nicosia, Kyrenia, Lapta, and Famagusta. The organizers emphasize that the initiative's goal is to demonstrate the active participation of people with disabilities in all spheres of life and to strengthen the culture of social solidarity.

Key events include the “Barrier-Free Traces” exhibition in Nicosia, a mothers' meeting in Kyrenia, inclusive entertainment activities in Lapta, and a creativity festival in Famagusta. There will also be a bazaar and an art exhibition dedicated to the achievements of people with disabilities.
