Fatal accident on the Iskele–Erjan highway: woman killed
A serious accident with a fatal outcome occurred yesterday around 21:40 on the Iskele–Erjan highway, between the 3rd and 4th kilometers of the road.
According to the police, the car JP 360, driven by 44-year-old Mehmet Ali Demir, traveling from Iskele towards Lefkoşa, due to driver inattention, veered into the right lane near the Anfora shopping center.
At that moment, a head-on collision occurred with the car RE 260, driven by 22-year-old Emir Gözel, traveling in the opposite direction.
As a result of the impact, the 46-year-old passenger of the RE 260, Gül Kanlı, died at the scene.
The driver of the RE 260 was taken to the Famagusta State Hospital, where he is under medical supervision.
As part of the investigation, the driver of the JP 360 has been detained, and investigative actions are ongoing.
