TRNC Participates in Halal Expo in Istanbul
A delegation from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is taking part in the Halal Expo in Istanbul. The TRNC booth has garnered significant attention from visitors, as the country seeks to promote halal tourism.
At the exhibition's opening, Fikri Ataoğlu, the Minister of Economy and Energy, stated that the TRNC is an island of tourism and education that continues to develop, attracting tourists year after year.
“We don't limit tourism to just the sun, sea, and beaches. Our country also offers great potential in alternative areas such as wellness and halal tourism,” the minister remarked.
The Halal Expo, an international trade fair held annually under the patronage of the President of Turkey, is organized by Discover Events in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC). This year marks the 10th edition of the forum, which is being hosted at the Istanbul Expo Center under the theme “10th Successful Year in Halal.”
The summit includes exhibitions such as Halal Expo, Private Label, Natural Organic Vegan Area, ETHEXPO Eurasia, the Tourism and Health Fair, an international ministerial session, business forums from various countries, and dedicated B2B areas. All are aimed at fostering global trade and economic collaboration.
In 2024, the event, considered the largest halal exhibition in the world, expects to welcome over 500 procurement specialists from across the globe, as well as around 40,000 visitors, 10,000 of whom will be international attendees.
The fair at the Istanbul Expo Center will conclude on Saturday.
