Reconstruction of Piers Continues at Kyrenia Old Harbour
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, Fikri Ataoğlu, announced that the renovation of wooden piers at the Kyrenia Old Harbour is proceeding according to schedule. The project is expected to be completed in May.
The Minister visited the site to inspect the progress of the reconstruction. According to him, the installation of steel piles and necessary technical tests have been completed, and the laying of connecting steel beams has begun. The next stage will involve the installation of the decking.
Ataoğlu emphasized that the goal of the project is to create a safe, aesthetic, and modern marina that respects the harbour's historical character. Once finished, the area's tourist appeal will increase, providing more comfortable conditions for both businesses and visitors.
The ministry also noted that the modernization is being carried out while preserving historical heritage and is aimed at the sustainable development of tourism infrastructure.
