In the forest near Kyrenia, three treasure hunters were caught
Police in Northern Cyprus have apprehended three men who were illegally searching for treasure. The treasure hunters were detained in a woodland area near Kyrenia.
According to the police press office, the three men, aged 30, 32, and 44, were arrested yesterday evening around 7:00 PM. They were caught red-handed while excavating using a metal detector, which is prohibited in the country.
The individuals in question have been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
It is important to note that any search for antiquities and treasures in Northern Cyprus using a metal detector is prohibited.
