"Champion Angels" Sports Complex Opens Today in the TRNC
The “Champion Angels” Sports Complex is set to officially open today in Northern Cyprus, as announced by the European Union Information Center.
The opening ceremony will take place on February 19, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, at the Maarif Turkish College in Famagusta.
In an official statement, the EU Information Center explained that the complex is dedicated to the Champion Angels—members of the TRNC children’s volleyball team, along with their teachers and families, who tragically lost their lives in the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, 2023.
Earlier this month, on February 6, Northern Cyprus commemorated the victims of the earthquake with a memorial ceremony marking the second anniversary of the “tragedy of the century.” The President and other high-ranking officials delivered messages of remembrance to honor those who perished.
