Prime Minister Ünal Üstel and Interior Minister Dursun Oğuz also shared their reflections on this important occasion.
“These days, as we deeply grieve the tragedy caused by the recent fire in our homeland, Türkiye, we welcome Miraç Kandili with hopes that this blessed night fosters feelings of unity, cooperation, and tolerance, allowing us to set aside pain and sorrow,” Prime Minister Üstel stated.
Significance of Miraç Kandili
According to Islamic tradition, Miraç Kandili marks the miraculous night journey and ascension of Prophet Muhammad to Allah. In 2025, the observance fell on the night of January 26–27. Muslims are encouraged to pray and reflect on this holy night, seeking spiritual renewal.
A Season of Spiritual Renewal
Earlier this year, on the night of January 2–3, the Islamic world welcomed Regaip Kandili, also known as the Night of Conception or Illumination of Prophet Muhammad. - Berat Kandili: February 13 (a harbinger of Ramadan)
- Ramadan Begins: March 1
- Laylat al-Qadr: March 26
- Eid al-Fitr: March 30
