Cypriots love not only siesta but also fiesta, meaning they enjoy holidays. Here is a list of official days when government institutions are closed, and almost all private enterprises do not operate. In tourist areas, you will find open shops, but this is more likely to be an exception rather than the rule. All museums, as well as archaeological sites, are closed on Passion Sunday.
