Cyprus Police has published a roadworks schedule through the end of May, warning drivers of large-scale traffic restrictions on main highways and in major cities across the island.

The most significant inconveniences are expected on the Nicosia–Limassol highway. For two weeks starting May 1, one side of the road will be completely closed at night from 21:00 to 5:30. The work will be carried out on sections approximately 3 kilometers long. Restrictions will not apply on Fridays, weekends, or public holidays.

On the Larnaca–Nicosia highway until May 28, the right lane near the Rizoelia junction is partially closed daily, except weekends. Work is being conducted both day and night to create emergency access points for emergency services.

In Limassol, infrastructure maintenance continues on the bypass road until May 15. Noise barriers are cleaned during the day, while drainage systems are maintained at night. Restrictions only affect the emergency lanes.

Similar shoulder cleaning works are underway on the Limassol–Paphos highway, where emergency lanes are also partially closed.

Restrictions also persist in urban areas. In Nicosia, the long-term reconstruction of Famagusta Avenue continues, and in Larnaca, one-way traffic with organized detours has been introduced on one of the streets until May 22.

Police urge drivers to take these changes into account when planning routes and to follow temporary road signs to avoid congestion and delays.
