Festival in Limassol Against Violence Towards Women
An art festival dedicated to the Month of Action Against Violence Toward Women will be held in Limassol on November 2 at the Old Port Square from 10:00 to 22:00. The event is organized by the Pancyprian Association of Single-Parent Families and Friends and the cultural movement Epologi with the support of the national coordinating body for preventing violence against women and the municipalities of the region.
The day will begin at 10:00 with the opening of the art market. At 15:00, the children's choir of Maria Diamantidou will perform, followed by an oriental dance performance by the Impulse dance studio and the official opening of the festival.
Short welcome speeches by the Minister of Justice and other officials are planned. At 17:00, a film screening will take place, followed by an interactive documentary performance “Hymen” about the collective female body.
At 17:40, the stage will feature a flamenco-theater show and the musical production “Daibar Masal” about the fates of four Limassol women who were recognized as witches. After that, Katerina Pasaschu, Frederiki Tombazu, Kyriakos Costa and Angelos Heipeloglou will perform. The evening will conclude with a DJ set by DJ Haram.
Admission to the festival is free.
