British MPs have arrived in Cyprus
A delegation of British parliamentarians has arrived in Cyprus for a two-day official visit to the island. The delegation belongs to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Cyprus, led by Conservative Party member and group chair Caroline Nokes.
The delegation also includes Conservative Party member Sir Roger Gale and Fabian Hamilton from the Labour Party. The group is accompanied by Bambos Charalambous, who was a Labour Party MP but is currently suspended following a misconduct complaint.
Additionally, the delegation is joined by the Chairman of the National Federation of Cypriots in the United Kingdom, Christos Karaolis.
The delegation is scheduled to meet with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, and the President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou. Meetings are also planned with the Chairman of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, Harris Georgiades, and the Cypriot delegation to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Assembly, Aristos Damianou.
Furthermore, the delegation will meet with the Mayor of Famagusta, Simos Ioannou, and members of its municipal council, as well as with members of the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces (UNFICYP) and visit the laboratory of the Committee on Missing Persons.
