Paphos Wins Silver at European Quality Coast Awards
The Cypriot resort town of Paphos has been awarded a silver medal for the quality of its coastline, earning a place among the top 100 environmentally friendly tourist destinations in the European Quality Coast Awards.

According to the Regional Tourism Board, after an extensive evaluation process, Paphos received the medal and secured its spot in the catalog of the world’s top 100 green tourist destinations for the 2024–2026 period.
Selection Criteria
The ranking was based on several key factors, including:
- Clean water
- Biodiversity
- Environmental protection
- Socio-economic parameters
- Cultural heritage
- Absence of air and noise pollution
- Overall quality of the tourist experience
This recognition emphasizes Paphos's "unparalleled beauty, scenic beaches, and the rich and rare vegetation of the Akamas Peninsula," further boosting its profile as a leading sustainable destination.
From 2013 to 2023, Paphos consistently earned accolades from the Quality Coast organization, being recognized as one of the best destinations for its clean, green, and nature-oriented tourism offerings.
