The Presidents of the Republic of Cyprus and Egypt met in Cairo
The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, met with the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, in Cairo. During the tête-à-tête meeting of the two leaders, bilateral relations between Cyprus and Egypt were discussed.
The high-level meeting took place last Sunday at the presidential palace in Cairo, as part of the negotiations on Egypt and the EU.
Nikos Christodoulides arrived at the palace around 14:00, where he was welcomed by the President of Egypt before the start of the bilateral meeting.
During the negotiations, the presidents of the two countries discussed strong bilateral relations and developments in the region. The President of the Republic of Cyprus also briefly briefed his Egyptian counterpart on the latest developments regarding the Cyprus issue.
