Tourism in Cyprus grew in 2025: Record 7.1 million trips and revenue growth to 3.7 billion euros
The Statistical Service of Cyprus has published data on the development of the tourism sector for 2025, recording a noticeable growth in both inbound and outbound tourism, as well as an increase in industry revenues.
Total passenger traffic to and from Cyprus reached 7.1 million people, an increase of 13% compared to 2024. Almost all traffic — 96.8% — was by air. The number of tourists visiting Cyprus rose by 12.2% to 4.5 million people.
The main source of tourists in 2025 was the United Kingdom (31.8%), followed by Israel, Poland, Germany, Greece, and Sweden. The vast majority of visits (79.8%) were for leisure, while 13.1% were for visiting relatives and 7% for business purposes.
Tourism revenues reached 3.7 billion euros, up 15.2% from 2024. Average tourist expenditure also rose to 815.16 euros, peaking in August.
Outbound tourism by Cyprus residents also increased by 11.9% to 2 million trips. The main destinations were Greece, the United Kingdom, and Italy, with the majority of trips (73.1%) being for leisure.
