Over Two Kilograms of Cocaine Seized in Limassol
Limassol police have confiscated more than two kilograms of cocaine and arrested three individuals suspected of drug trafficking.
According to authorities, around 1:00 PM the previous day, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (YKAN) observed a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old man. A motorcycle followed the car, and both vehicles stopped in a parking lot near a café. Shortly after, another car parked in the nearby fast-food area.
The two cars and the motorcycle then departed together. They were later spotted parked in the Zakaki area.
When YKAN officers saw the motorcycle rider putting a bag on his back and attempting to leave, they stopped him for a check. Meanwhile, the two cars fled the scene. Inside the bag of the 33-year-old motorcyclist, police discovered two packages of cocaine weighing a total of 2 kilograms and 360 grams. The motorcyclist was arrested on suspicion of illegal drug possession with intent to distribute.
During the investigation, police also arrested two additional men, aged 22 and 35, who may be linked to the case. They are now in custody as well.
All three suspects are expected to appear in court today for a hearing on the charges against them.
The police have released photos of the seized drugs.
