Man Dies in Limassol Accident After Visiting Hospital
A 43-year-old man tragically died in a car accident in Limassol after seeking medical assistance.
According to emergency services, the incident occurred last Sunday. Alkis Michael had gone to Limassol General Hospital early in the morning, complaining of chest pains. However, shortly after checking in, he left the hospital. Around 5:30 AM, in the Ayia Phylaxeos area, Michael collided with a parked car and died at the scene.
Police are currently investigating whether the cause of death was the result of the crash or if other medical issues may have contributed to the accident. Authorities suspect he might have been heading to a private clinic.
Charalambos Charilaou, a spokesperson for the State Health Services Organization (Okypy), stated that an internal investigation into the incident has already been conducted.
Preliminary findings suggest that the patient left the waiting area on his own, without notifying anyone and without signing any documents to confirm that he was leaving of his own accord.
It has been reported that the deceased leaves behind two children.
