In Paphos, construction of the marina is expected to begin in 2026

The authorities of the Paphos district expect construction of a new marina—one of the region’s most discussed and anticipated infrastructure projects—to begin in early 2026. The development is planned for the Potima area, near Kissonerga.
At present, the project is at the tender stage: the procedure was launched in autumn, and the results are now awaited. The municipality hopes that this time the process will be completed without legal delays that previously hindered the initiative.
According to the plans, the marina will be able to accommodate around 1,000 yachts, with most berths located in the water and the remainder on land. In addition to yachting infrastructure, the project includes residential and commercial development, including hotels and service facilities, also aimed at cruise tourism.
The authorities view the marina as an important element of Paphos’s long-term development, with expectations of job creation and enhanced tourist appeal. Earlier, President Nikos Christodoulides described the project as a potential driver of the city’s economic growth.
