Two Detained with Drugs at Ercan Airport and Kyrenia Port

At Ercan Airport, during checks conducted by the anti-narcotics and smuggling unit, a 30-year-old man arriving in the TRNC was detained. A narcotics detection dog reacted to the passenger, and during the inspection, a cigarette containing a substance, presumably cannabis mixed with tobacco, was found on him.
On the same day, a similar incident occurred at Girne Tourism Port. Upon entering the TRNC, a 26-year-old man was stopped after a reaction from a service dog. During a search, approximately one gram of a substance, presumably cannabis, was found on him and in the vehicle he was using.
Both suspects have been detained. Police continue to investigate the illegal import and possession of narcotic substances.
