Heavy rains and thunderstorms expected in Northern Cyprus from Friday to Sunday; temperatures up to 27°C

The Meteorological Service has reported that a change in weather is forecast for Northern Cyprus between April 14 and 20, 2026: the first few days will be warm and relatively humid, while rain and thunderstorms are expected in places from Friday to Sunday. The report is dated April 15, 2026.

According to the forecast, the weather will be partly cloudy to very cloudy until Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, localized rain or thundershowers are possible, on Sunday — localized rain, and on Monday the weather will return to being partly cloudy and clear. Maximum air temperatures in most areas, including inland and coastal regions, will be between 24–27°C.

Winds will be mainly from the north and east, moderate. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, isolated gusts of strong wind and occasional storm-force winds are expected. Recommendations for residents: secure outdoor furniture and household items, avoid going out to sea if possible when the wind strengthens, postpone outdoor mass events during thunderstorms, and be cautious on slippery roads.
