Two New Weather Stations to Be Installed in Gönyeli-Alayköy
Two new meteorological stations are set to be installed in the Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality in Northern Cyprus.
Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu announced the project on social media, stating that it is being carried out in line with recommendations from the Meteorology Department and the Chamber of Meteorological Engineers. The initiative is supported by the European Union and coordinated through the EU Coordination Centre under the TRNC Prime Ministry.
The goal of the project is to collect climate data in a reliable and scientific manner. The tender process for the stations has already been completed.
"Today, we began determining the installation locations and preparing the technical groundwork. These stations will allow us to monitor weather conditions more regularly and scientifically. With accurate data, we’ll be able to shape our environmental policies more effectively," said Mayor Amcaoğlu.
