Scouting History Exhibition Opens in Nicosia
An exhibition titled "Celal İzcibayar – İzcilğin İzi," dedicated to the history of scouting in Cyprus, has opened at the historic Saçaklı Ev in Nicosia.
Curated by Serhat Bayar, a member of the European Scout Organization, the exhibition runs until March 5. It features 70 archival photographs documenting the movement from 1920 to 1974, alongside personal items belonging to International Scout Commissioner Celal İzcibayar, a recipient of Queen Elizabeth II's Imperial Award of Honour. Nicosia Mayor Mehmet Harmancı praised scouting as a vital tool for character building and discipline. Visitors also received a video presentation on the island's scouting evolution and a copy of İzcibayar’s book, "Bir Dünya."
