Driver Responsible for Fatal Accident in Lefkoşa Sent to Prison
In Lefkoşa, 21-year-old Ahmed Altaieb Ali Idris appeared in court, accused of a traffic accident that resulted in one death and three injuries.
The accident occurred on March 8 around 05:30 in the Gönyeli area. According to police, the driver lost control, veered off the road, struck a lamp post, and overturned.
The driver and three passengers were injured in the crash. One of the passengers died in the hospital from her injuries. The others were discharged after treatment.
Tests showed that while there was no alcohol in the driver's blood, narcotic substances were detected.
The court ordered the suspect to remain in custody for up to 60 days.
