Before starting primary school, future students need to receive vaccinations against a number of diseases.
Vaccinations for school in Cyprus
According to the information on the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth website, the following vaccinations are required for primary school enrollment.
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTP or DTaP)
- Poliomyelitis
- Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B (Hep B)
- Meningococcal conjugate C (Men C) or another vaccine containing meningococcus
- Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) *
- Pneumococcal conjugate (PCV) *
- *Hib and PCV vaccines are recommended to be administered at the age of 5 years (starting from 2 months of age).
When registering a child, parents must provide a copy of the relevant pages of the child's medical record or vaccination card, indicating the child's vaccination status and name.
