Israeli Airlines Resume Flights to Paphos

After a two-month suspension, Israeli airlines are resuming flights to Paphos. This week, budget airline Ryanair launched daily flights between Paphos and both Tel Aviv and Haifa. Meanwhile, Israel’s major carrier, EL AL, is set to officially resume its Paphos operations starting Monday.

Alongside Ryanair’s already operating Paphos–Tel Aviv route, EL AL has announced four weekly flights, Air Haifa will operate six, Arkia will offer five, and TUS plans to run eight flights per week. There has been no official update yet from Israir.

Flights between Paphos and Israel were initially suspended in late January following a decision by Israeli security services due to unspecified safety concerns. While the official reason for the suspension was never disclosed, the flights were expected to resume in early March. However, actual operations restarted nearly a month later.

Israel remains Cyprus’s second-largest tourism market. Given that, on average, Israeli travelers take more than one trip per year, the Paphos Tourism Department is prioritizing efforts to restore and stabilize visitor flows from the neighboring country.
