Construction structure collapses in Limassol — no casualties reported
A tragedy was narrowly avoided in central Limassol when part of a metal structure collapsed at a construction site.
The incident occurred at the junction of Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue and Agias Fylaxeos Street during construction work on the upper floor and roof of the building.
According to preliminary information, workers were on-site at the time of the incident, but everyone managed to leave the construction area immediately after the collapse began.
Eyewitnesses reported a loud noise that could be heard throughout the neighborhood, causing alarm among residents.
Police and the Department of Labour Inspection arrived at the scene to investigate the causes of the incident.
There are no reports of injuries at this time.
