Two Foreign Women Ejected from Speeding Convertible in Limassol
Two foreign women sustained serious injuries after being thrown from a speeding convertible in Limassol. Doctors diagnosed both with traumatic brain injuries.
According to police, the incident occurred early Tuesday morning. The driver fled the scene but was later arrested. The victims remain hospitalized with head injuries and internal bleeding. While their condition is serious, their lives are not at risk.
Limassol’s traffic police chief stated that the driver, a 35-year-old foreign national, claimed he fled in shock but had asked two other passengers to assist the injured women before leaving.
Authorities confirmed that all four passengers and the driver were from the same country, though they did not specify which one. Investigators believe the group met at a festival in Limassol before the driver offered them a ride back to their hotel.
The convertible’s top was down, and two of the three women in the backseat had leaned out of the vehicle. As the car made a turn, they lost their balance and fell onto the road, sustaining severe injuries.
The driver now faces multiple charges, including reckless driving, transporting passengers in unsafe seating positions, and fleeing the scene of an accident.
